'Stoked
Rider' is a series of games featuring immense
outdoor terrains and accessible
gameplay.
Find about the history of this game-title:
1999, the creators of the Stoked Rider games, Bongfish Interactive Entertainment, are busy producing a new media marketing campaign for FLOW snowboards. As part of the campaign they co-develop a small ad-game together with French freeware-legend, Alain Villaume. Incredibly positive responses from gamers worldwide motivate Bongfish to continue the franchise, now under the guise of 'Stoked Rider'.
2001-2002, a series of freeware updates are released; 500,000 downloads later the team feels confident enough to begin development of Stoked Rider featuring Tommy Brunner, their first commercial project. Freeride legend Tommy Brunner joins the team as an advisor.
2003, an international team of snowboarders and game developers begin to handcraft the very first 3D cellshaded freeriding game.
2006, March 30th: Stoked Rider featuring Tommy Brunner is ready for electronic purchase.
2006, April 21th: We are shocked & unspeakable sorrowed that we were informed that Tommy Brunner died in an avalanche in Canada during a film & photoshooting.
Despite this tragic loss, Tommy will continue living in this game forever - you know freeriders won't die
2006, May: PhysX makers AGEIA demonstrate a next-gen technology of Stoked Rider at E3 2006.
Reinforced with new talent, development of this series is heavily ongoing with a new game to be ready for 2007 winter season - stay tuned.
